This site keeps its own simple analytics so I can see how it's used. Everything is stored in my own database and nothing is sent to third parties.
Each page view records the page, your browser, operating system, device type and language, plus the website that linked you here (domain only) and any campaign tags in the link, recorded on the first page you land on. Visits are counted with a random session number that is generated on the server and reset whenever you change your cookie choice. Your IP address isn't saved with your visits.
An anonymous random ID is stored in a first-party cookie (hw_vid) so repeat visits can be grouped, along with the full referring link, screen size, timezone, and which links and buttons you click on this site.
Only a cookie that remembers your choice (hw_consent) is set. No visitor ID is created, and nothing about your screen, timezone or clicks is recorded.
If you send a message, your name, email and message are stored so they can be answered. The message is linked to your visits only if you accepted analytics.
No advertising, no fingerprinting, no selling or sharing data with third parties. Browsers that send Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track are treated as having declined.
Analytics data is deleted after 13 months. You can change your cookie choice at any time with the Cookie settings link in the footer, and you can ask for your data to be deleted through the contact form.
